Freedive with Carlos Coste in Bonaire or Curaçao
The big stars of the freediving world lives and works on Bonaire: the Venezuelan Carlos Coste. Coste has broken numerous world records in his career as a professional freediver. Today, because of his established network of freedive centers on Curaçao or Bonaire, anyone can follow courses and workshops with him and thus become acquainted with this very spectacular sport in a responsible way.
Freediving in Bonaire
Within the Caribbean archipelago, Bonaire is known as an absolute top destination to freedive! Freediving to the famous ‘Hilma Hooker’ wreck is one of the favorite freedive locations on the Caribbean island.
Global top freedivers regularly come to Bonaire to set freediving records. For example, on June 9, 2016, the Dutch freediver Jeanine Grasmeijer set a new world record for the ‘free immersion apnea’ component. She swam to a depth of no less than 92 meters.
Freedive Courses in Bonaire
Freedive courses are regularly given on Bonaire by famous freedivers such as the aforementioned Carlos Coste and the Brazilian world champion Karol Meyer (Karol Fish). Karol Meyer set a new world record on Bonaire in 2012. when she dived to a depth of 68.9 meters.
