Early Life and Inspiration
Bryan Horne wasn’t born in Curaçao; he hails from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. Growing up in Canada, Bryan developed a love for the water early on, but it was his passion for scuba diving that ultimately drew him to the warm, crystal-clear waters of Curaçao. Moving from Canada was always going to be a life-changing decision, but in diving, Bryan had found his calling.
Journey to Curaçao
In the fall of 2006, Bryan made the bold move to Curaçao, driven by a passion for scuba diving and the underwater world. This decision marked the beginning of an incredible journey. As a now retired PADI Master Instructor, Commercial Boat Captain, and Technical Diver, Bryan has gained intimate and extensive knowledge of Curaçao’s underwater world. His involvement in numerous scientific research expeditions, including Blue Halo Curaçao (Waitt Foundation), The Smithsonian Institute, Substation Curaçao, Chapman Expeditions, and the Carmabi Foundation, has given him unparalleled insight into the marine environment of the island.
