Kathy’s Paradise
Kathy's Paradise near Eastpoint, Curacao
Often this spectacular dive, inside the Curacao Marine Park, becomes a drift dive where you literally “fly” east from Smokey’s and end with an amazing finish at Kathy’s Paradise.
These immaculate Curacao dive locations with large dense corals overhangs lead to sharp drop offs, and this coupled with great visibility provide you with a 360-degree experience that will leave you wanting more upon surfacing! Sharks and stingrays are often seen here too.
How did Kathy’s Paradise get named?
According to Chris Richards, “A diver named Kathy was on one of our first trips to the nameless site. As an avid u/w she was crazy about it. When she asked the name for her logbook…I said..you tell me? ”
Before Ocean Encounters became Ocean Encounters, the Dive Operator used to be named Underwater Curaçao, and believe it or not, part of the Peter Hughes Diving group who hired this charismatic guy called Chris Richards (who is now the Curaçao Sea Aquarium Park Manager by the way) to operate this growing Curaçao concern!
